Our team are highly trained in many areas and are happy to look after your general health and more specific requirements. We are dedicated to listening to you, discussing your physical and mental concerns in an honest and open fashion. We will provide you with up to date, evidence-based medical advice to make informed choices when it comes to managing your health.
For many years our practice has been involved in the education of medical students and students may visit the practice to observe consultations as part of their curriculum. We always advise Patients in advance if a student is present and will only invite a student to observe your consultation with your full permission.
The practice is also a training practice for specialist trainees in general practice from the Irish College of General Practitioners training scheme. These trainees are qualified experienced doctors and are undertaking further experience and training in general practice. They remain in the practice from periods of 6 months to 1 year.
Dr Brendan O’ Shea
MD FRCGP - MCRN 11401
Dr Brendan O’ Shea is a GP and Occupational Medicine Physician at The Bridge Medical Centre, Newbridge, Ireland, and also Assistant Adjunct Professor at Trinity College Dublin.
Academic interests include improving care for people with multimorbidity, end of life planning, health system innovation, obesity, and global health, which areas he has taught on and researched.
Graduating from Trinity College, he completed GP Training on the TCD GP Training Scheme, completed an MD Thesis on Childhood Overweight at Trinity, and Fellowship by Assessment at The RCGP.
He has previously been on Board of Directors at The Irish Hospice Foundation, previously Medical Director at The Irish College of General Practitioners, and Chair of the Clinical Advisory Group to the HSE Obesity Program.
Over 3 decades in practice in Kildare, he has been involved in the training and education of Doctors, including Undergraduates, Specialty Training in General Practice, and Continuing Medical Education for Doctors.
He is a member at IDsMAiD (Irish Doctors Supporting Medical Assistance in Dying), currently represents the ICGP at The HSE Palliative Care Program, is Medical Director at K Doc, and Board Member at Beyond Stigma, an NGO working with People Living with HIV in Zimbabwe, Ghana, South Africa and Rwanda.
Active on the Faculty Board of the RoI Faculty RCGP, he is involved with the All Island Clinical Case Presentation Competition for Medical Undergraduates, and the Shepherd Essay Prize.
Dr Seoighe Ni Rua
MB, LRCP & SI, BCh, MICGP, MScOH - MCRN 067619
Dr Seoighe Ni Rua graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2001 and completed the TCD/HSE General Practice Training Scheme in 2007.
She joined the Bridge Medical Centre in 2008.She has a diploma in Medicine of the Elderly and in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, as well as a master’s in Occupational Medicine from UCD.
More recently she has trained in facial aesthetics/anti-wrinkle treatment and is now keen to offer this service to Patients.
Dr Ni Rua’s special interests include family planning (IUCD/Implanon insertion), menopause and preventative medicine.
Dr Hugh Brady

Dr Hugh Brady is a GP and Sports Medicine Physician at the Bridge Medical Centre.
He graduated in Medicine from University College Dublin in 2008. He subsequently completed the Trinity College Dublin GP Training scheme in 2014.
He joined the Bridge Medical Centre in 2016 and is a trainer for the Trinity HSE Postgraduate GP scheme.
Dr Brady has a special interest in Musculoskeletal medicine and Sports Medicine.
He completed a master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Medicine from University College Cork and has a further diploma in musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Audrey Mulvey
Practice Nurse
Audrey qualified as a General Nurse from Jervis Street Hospital in 1980 and completed her Midwifery training at the Rotunda Hospital in 1982. She worked in the Rotunda for 20 years, gaining extensive experience in antenatal and postnatal care, labour ward practice, clinics, lactation support, antenatal education, and the Sexual Assault Treatment Unit (SATU), as well as teaching student midwives.
After moving into community nursing in 2002, Audrey later transitioned to Practice Nursing, completing her Practice Nursing qualification in Dublin. She worked in a GP practice in Kilcullen before joining Bridge Medical Centre in 2019. She has also worked for many years in KDoc.
Her areas of interest include: cervical smear testing, childhood vaccination programme, health promotion, phlebotomy, and wound care.
Jayne Clarke
Practice Nurse
Jayne is an experienced Practice Nurse who graduated from UCD/St Vincent’s University Hospital in 2012 achieving first class honours. She began her career in St Vincent’s Public Hospital, working across ENT, cardiothoracic, and cardiovascular wards.
She went on to complete a Higher Diploma in Midwifery with Trinity College Dublin and the Rotunda Hospital, graduating with distinction, and later worked in the Rotunda delivery suite before specialising in fertility care. Jayne spent almost 10 years as a Senior Fertility Nurse and also holds a distinction in Ultrasonography in Fertility from UCD.
Since moving into general practice in 2023, Jayne provides a broad range of services including chronic disease management, immunisations, antenatal and newborn care, venepuncture, ECGs, and wound care.
Orla Burns
Practice Manager
Orla holds a BA (Honours) in Business Management from the National College of Ireland and a Diploma in Practice Management from the Irish College of General Practitioners.
She has worked as Practice Manager at The Bridge Medical Centre since 2013, where she is responsible for the day-to-day running of the practice.
Prior to this, Orla worked with KDoc for seven years. She supports both clinical and administrative teams.
Stephanie Murphy
Assistant Practice Manager / Phlebotomist
Stephanie completed a Certificate in Phlebotomy (2022) and an ECG Workshop (2023) from Geopace Training Academy. With over 30 years’ experience as a Senior Practice Administrator, she joined The Bridge Medical Centre in 2020.
Stephanie has a keen interest in the CDM scheme and supports the day-to-day running of the practice.
